HEALING WATERS SPA: TENDING TO YOUR WELLNESS
Our Spa has been in operation since 2004, built on the foundation of our Signature Hammam Treatment. As the Spa industry has changed, so have our Spa offerings and treatments. Healing Waters Spa has been owned and operated by women entrepreneurs since its inception, something we’re very proud of. It’s our mission to “tend to your wellness,” and truly want every client to have a relaxing, rejuvenating experience.
Our modern society places many demands on us – professional, personal, physical and emotional. We offer a refuge, a place of rest, for the weary body and mind.
We work closely with local makers to offer a curated selection of wellness products available for purchase both in-store and online!
We’re proud to offer two Professional skin care lines – Yon-Ka (a Parisian phytoaromatic product line), and G.M. COLLIN® (a Canadian dermo-corrective product line that undergoes rigorous clinical testing).
To schedule an appointment with us, simply book online, email us at healingw@telus.net, or call us at 780-988-7873. We look forward to seeing you soon!
HOW TO SPA
There is no right way to go about a Spa visit, or treatment. As practitioners, we dedicate our professions to enhancing your wellness through considered intakes, treatment planning specific to your needs, and safe, practiced service.
Prior to your arrival:
-
- Ensure you have completed the required treatment intake forms. If you are not feeling well, we kindly request you reschedule any and all appointments. Services may be terminated or refused if you arrive at your appointment expressing any signs or symptoms of illness. Find these forms here.
- Plan to arrive 5 minutes prior to your scheduled treatment time. Arriving late to your appointment may impact our ability to offer the best quality service and will impact your treatment time.
- All you need to bring is yourself and small personal items such as your phone (on silent, please), wallet, keys and any emergency medication), we provide the rest!
Upon arrival:
-
- Turn any personal device volumes to silent or place on airplane mode for maximum relaxation.
During treatment:
-
- Please be mindful of the volume of conversations, with both your practitioner and others you may be with at your services. We strive to have a quiet and peaceful environment for all our guests!
- Some treatments (scrubs, wraps, hammam, massage, lotion application, brazilian waxing) involve access to areas of the body that may be more sensitive, delicate, or vulnerable. As a client, you are ALWAYS able to modify, refuse, or withdraw consent at any time during your treatment. We will always respect the choices you make for your body and are experts at adapting our treatments.
Upon departure:
-
- Your practitioner will often provide homecare or best practices after your visit to support your wellness and to bolster treatment efficacy. Please note that any homecare or best practices are to be considered for informational purposes only. Any information provided is not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of your physician or other qualified health provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition.
PLANNING YOUR VISIT
Healing Waters Spa is a boutique day Spa which means we are a small, exclusive business that offers customized service. When planning your upcoming visit with us, please consider the following.
What treatment should I schedule if it’s my first time visiting a spa?
If you are NEW to personal services, we recommend you start with a manicure or pedicure! These services allow you to remain clothed while our practitioners lay hands – touch is something you grow into. If you are comfortable with touch but new to treatment, aside from our manicures and pedicures, we would recommend you schedule a 45-minute massage or our Introductory Facial! If you are ready to receive full-body touch, we recommend our glow scrub, a 60-minute massage, or a facial treatment of your choice! Our Spa Packages, Signature Hammam Treatment, Wraps, Clinical Facials and 60, 75 and 90 minute Registered Massage Therapy Treatments are not exclusively for expert Spa go-ers, but they are longer in treatment duration and involve more participation by the Spa guest!
How much notice do I need to provide you to secure an appointment?
We often have same day waxing and tinting appointments, private steam room reservations, or classic manicure and pedicure treatments available. If you’re looking to book a Spa package on a Saturday, please be mindful that our availability may vary and you will likely need to book these appointments with a minimum of 4 weeks notice.
Our online booking system will allow you to book appointments 2 hours in advance. If you are looking for same day appointments, it may be easier to call the Spa directly!
I have a disability, mobility and/or serious health issues. Can I still come to Healing Waters Spa?
There is room for everyone at Healing Waters Spa, but we may need to modify your treatment or make adjustments to our service areas to ensure your health and safety, and that of our staff, is prioritized during treatment. If you have any questions about how our services areas or treatments can be modified to suit your specific needs, please contact us directly prior to booking your appointment!
What age of Spa guests do you accept?
Spa treatments are for everyone, however, we have service recommendations for the following age groups and demographics!
-
- Children 6 and under: We do not recommend Spa services for children under the age of 6, with the exception of Massage Therapy treatments. Any and all treatments for children under the age of 17 require the consent of Parents or Legal Guardians. Parents or Legal Guardians must remain in the room for the duration of the treatment.
- Children age 6-12: Children aged 6-12 may come for manicure, pedicures, or Massage Therapy treatments with consent of their Parents or Legal Guardians. Parents or Legal Guardians must remain in the treatment rooms or treatment areas for the duration of appointment.
- Children aged 12-17: Children aged 12-17 may receive manicures, pedicures, massage therapy, brow waxing, brow and lash tinting, or our Introductory Facial with consent from Parents or Legal Guardians.
- Aged 18+: Anyone over the age of 18 in the province of Alberta, who is able to give consent, may receive treatments of their desire
How do I get to Healing Waters Spa?
Walk, bus, bike, car, scooter, Uber… the list goes on! We are completely accessible by all methods of transportation. There are plenty of parking stalls for your convenience, and an EIS bus stop right out front of the spa. Once you arrive, take the stairs up to the second floor on the south side of the building.
